Billy Moyer Jr. Races to Old No. 1 Speedway CCSDS Triumph

Billy Moyer Jr. raced to his first win of the 2022 season on Friday night with a $3,000 victory at Old No. 1 Speedway.

His 18th-career COMP Cams Super Dirt Series victory came behind the wheel of his Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 21 Dyna-Gro Seed / Mesilla Valley Transportation / Pontiac RV / Longhorn Race Car / Clements Racing Engines Super Late Model.

“We got a late start to this year because I had a lot of projects happening in the shop for area racers, and we were also anticipating the arrival of our new son,” Moyer Jr. said. “Our first few races out we weren’t bad, but we were battling a miss in the engine. We got it lined out at Harrisburg (Old No. 1 Speedway) on Friday night, and I was able to get to the lead late in the race and get the win.

“We’ve got some big races on the schedule, and hopefully we can get some more wins.”

On Friday evening, Billy Moyer Jr. made his lone start of the weekend at Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Ark.) aboard his Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 21 Late Model for The Barn Burner.

In a field of 29 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series entries, Billy picked up Mark Martin Automotive Fast Time Honors in time trials before capturing a heat race victory.

Tracking down race-long pacesetter Logan Martin in the closing laps of the 30-lap feature, Moyer Jr. muscled ahead with two circuits remaining to capture his first win of the season and a $3,000 payday. His 18th-career series triumph came ahead of Morgan Bagley, B.J. Robinson, Brian Rickman, and Brandon Carpenter.

The upcoming weekend – May 6-7 – will see Billy entering a pair of COMP Cams Super Dirt Series events at his home track, Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.). The Bad Boy 98 weekend include the $5,000-to-win Joe Garrison Memorial on Friday night and the $12,000-to-win, 68-lap finale on Saturday night.
